OFSTED judged the school's Personal Development to be GOOD in 2022

"The school’s Christian motto of ‘let your light shine’ is present in every aspect of school life. Pupils beam with happiness to learn in a place where staff ensure that all pupils show care and respect for each other. Pupils are proud of the inclusive culture of their school. They learn that it is important for everyone to feel welcome. This means that bullying is very rare and any incidents are quickly resolved. "

OFSTED OCTOBER 2022

We are proud of the wide range of activities, opportunities and interventions for all of our children.  You can find out all about our offer in these Personal Development pages.

ROOTS PROJECT

We are particularly proud of our ROOTS project.

The ROOTS project at St Marks Primary School offers Refugee and Asylum Seeking pupils an opportunity to take part in an Art project that celebrates their culture and heritage. Over a course of 6 weeks, children work 1:1 with project leader Miss Xerri to produce a piece of self-portrait work which reflected their identity, their background and their culture. The pupils explore their home countries, listened to music, explored foods from their home countries and celebrated their ROOTS!

I have also attached the info brochure that we have on display about the project which includes children's feedback.
